The Ten Thousand Questions, 2008, video and postcard

This work was produced in the Learning Zone, a "flexible learning environment" at the University of the Arts London. This facility is a student led space with IT facilities, reference books and bookable spaces for study groups to meet up.  I have worked here since May 2007 and in late 2007 I convinced the manager of the facility that it would be interesting to turn my job into a residency for a brief period of time.  This work would be an exploration of the institutional mechanisms of the university, the relationship that students have with these, and how they interact with the process of Making Art. It would also lead to the production of a piece of "publicity material" for the Learning Zone.

The project involved distributing a questionnaire amongst student users and using the data to produce a postcard advertising the facility.
