Corbin Union Residency, 2012

This Residency took place in Corbin, British Columbia and involved eight artists from the UK and Canada

Most of these artifacts were constructed outside, sitting around a fire and in the woods, they came out of collective discussions about the environment in which the artists were temporarily living at the time; Corbin, British Columbia. While there the artists focused on the politics and history of the site, specifically within notions of labour and resistance to control; how, as a working town, Corbin relates to the surrounding ‘natural’ environment; and the conflicting mythological relationship between the human and the non-human.
